I've been charged with handling the migration from a Mac G4 with 4TB or storage and 4TB external hard drive as backup to a new windows server machine with about 12TB of primary storage that can also handle two rotating on-site backups. My main question is how to handle the backups, I'm not worried about the config files or restoring the OS just the other files. What's the best software for the job? can it send email notifications, what kind of backups (full, differential, etc.) can it handle. Not my main question but feel free to chime in regarding other specs and primary storage. This is to be used internally, simple SMB share for a small/medium media company. they don't have a lot of users but do have a lot of data. My budget is in the €5000-€7000.
