Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

My administrator has disabled crontab in one of the server. Is there a userspace demon which could do exactly the cron would do? The at command still works. Should I write a wrapper to execute some command and reshedule again using at or is there a better way?

Did you ask him the reason? – quanta Aug 30 '12 at 9:01
Ask your admin if there's a reason for disabling cron. Then ask if you are allowed to actually use at, it might or might not be a good workaround for you. – Janne Pikkarainen Aug 30 '12 at 9:53
Its because of some new policies. – balki Aug 30 '12 at 15:36
