Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

We recently opened new offices at a separate location/state and I want our web services to fail-over to this new site/location.

Is it even okay to do this over the internet (no VPN)?

Would pound (reverse proxy) be an adequate tool to use?

If not, what would be a (hopefully free) solution I could use to accomplish this?

How about using a load balancer? –  mdpc Sep 4 '12 at 19:19
