Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a .net Windows Service that starts up and shuts down properly on Windows 7 and Windows 2003 Server.

However I have one Windows 2003 Server where I get a CannotUnloadAppDomainException when shutting down the server.

I know the server creates a .NET AppDomain for each port it listens on?

The fact that it works properly on one Windows 2003 server and not another leads me to believe it is a .NET Framework or Server configuration issue.

I am looking for suggestions on how to diagnose and fix this problem on the Windows 2003 Server where the exception is being logged.
