I'm looking for a hosting package for a server to just run a few automated tasks and services, with the option to remote desktop to it.

The thing is most hosting packages charge inclusive of bandwidth which I will have hardly much use for. I just want the box really to run some low bandwidth items, I can't find servers which are just for things like this, most are for web hosting. Can anyone advise?

Set up a micro instance on AWS EC2. It'll cost you $10-20/month, incoming bandwidth is free, and outgoing bandwidth is cheap (and not lump-summed).
