So I've been playing with AppFabric in my spare time at home and have at least a surface knowledge, but other than that I'm new to it. I've been doing a lot of reading, but can't find any help on my particular issue.

Question: What is the proper configuration of AppFabric when your web server is not the same as your SQL Server?

Explanation: I currently have installed AppFabric on my web server (excluding Caching Services, but with everything else). During the configuration stage I was getting errors when trying to connect to my SQL Server with the System.Data.SqlClient provider using SQL Server Authentication.

I setup an account on my SQL Server giving it the public and dbcreator roles, but apparently that wasn't enough because it created a database with the name I specified, but it's completely empty, and the configurator threw the error below.

Come to find out, according to this article, it needs several server logins and roles which are setup for you when installing AppFabric, well I don't want to clutter my SQL Server with another installation of AppFabric when all I need are the logins, etc. Clearly the developers of AppFabric weren't thinking of the MOST COMMON BY FAR configuration of having separate web and SQL servers.

EDIT: I don't suppose this article would apply? I'm not trying to setup a "Farm" by any means though. Or better yet this one, especially the part about Hosting Administration Control. I'll read more on this tomorrow. Meanwhile any input would be appreciated. :)

Any ideas? Would be much obliged. Thank you! :)
