I'm re-installing a Windows 7 PC and want backup all the users generated data to latter decide what data can be useful. What directories I must backup?
With user generated data I'm talking about all data inside a Windows 7 PC except system and installed programs, cos system and installed programs can be large and are not important in the sense that one can install them again, but users generate data, inbox, programs settings, etc. is what I want save, but I don't know where find it and how save it using a Ubuntu CD because the syslink issues when trying to coy using Nautilus.
I have problems coping C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData using a Ubuntu live CD (because I don't have access to the Windows 7 PC) due to AppData have a lot of syslink (Junction Points)! The problem is that the copy turn infinite, I mean, is like I'm copying more files that what my hard disk can stored, a kind of syslink loop I think.
