Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a problem with LAMPP 1.7.7. I'm using Ubuntu 12.10, LAMPP 1.7.7 (with Apache 2.2.21). The virtualhost doesn't work for me. I want when typing "bcdcnt.net" in the browser, it will show the directory located at "/home/bang/projects/bcdcnt/web" (it's the public folder of a Symfony project). I configured as bellow:

/etc/hosts file:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 bcdcnt.net

/opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf file: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?08b8l5vt40sobm6

/opt/lampp/etc/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf file: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?3mtcd2xj7dc4t9c

When typing "bcdcnt.net" in the brower, it shows this error:

Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

but when typing "localhost", it works properly.

Anyone could suggest for me, please. Thanks.
