I am using Debian 6.0.6. I have installed clamfs, which mounts /var/lib/samba/shared_dir as /clamfs/shared_volume. That shared_volume is being "shared" to Microsoft Windows clients. Everything is almost working as it should but I do have a problem - when clamfs is scanning a file ("on access" scanning) access to that network drive will be blocked until clamfs has finished scanning. That can take a lot of time depending on the type of file being scanned.
I also tried to find out if this is a problem with clamfs or samba. I think the blocking behavior comes from samba because when clamfs is scanning I still can access files under /clamfs/shared_volume when I have logged on to the linux host as a normal user.
Samba's version is 2:3.5.6~df.
