What's in the error log? –  VBart Nov 15 '12 at 22:50

Looks like a bug in auth_request or dav module. –  VBart Nov 16 '12 at 12:16

Sometimes the request ends with success. –  betonimig Nov 16 '12 at 12:18

Anyway, alerts about crashed worker processes isn't something normal. –  VBart Nov 16 '12 at 12:53

The problem you see is a combination of two actual problems:

  • The problem in nginx core, which results in request body being read incorrectly in some cases. In your case, this problem is triggered by the auth request module. This problem is under investigation.

  • The bug in dav module which causes nginx to dereference null pointer if request body wasn't read under dav module's control. The bug doesn't manifest itself under normal conditions, but due to the above problem you've hit it.

I have tryed: location = /api_auth, and it didn't solve the problem. It seems to be a bug. –  betonimig Nov 16 '12 at 14:37

Yep, it looks like I was wrong here - you config seems to handle it properly as /api_auth isn't matched by your regex. Something else causes incorrect body reading, which in turn triggers the bug in dav module leading to a segfault. Could you please provide grep -F "8241#0: *1892 " from debug log and full config? –  Maxim Dounin Nov 16 '12 at 14:49

Try the patch from here‌, it should fix the problem. –  Maxim Dounin Nov 21 '12 at 1:32

Alias with variables in a regexp location maps full URI to a given file name, and any MOVE destination will be mapped to the same file name. So yes, you can't use alias with variables in a regexp location with MOVE. Using normal location is correct solution. –  Maxim Dounin Nov 22 '12 at 10:55
