Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am currenly setting up a standalone LAN for 15 users.

When trying to open the 'Openfire Server' program on my Application Server, I keep receiving the below error messages in the Openfire window:

Database setup or configuration error, please verify your database settings and check the logs/error .log file for detailed error messages

Each time I have used this program in the past it has worked fine so I have no clue what could be causing this error to appear.

I have tried to read the openfire_log.ldf file on my SQL server but i don't know how to view this type of file.

I am also recieving pop-ups on my SQL server saying that I have low disk space on my DATA partitions, could this be a possible cause to my Openfire fault?

You should look at the log within the OpenFire application directory (and provide the contents of that log in your question) - the .ldf file isn't going to help. The database disk being full could definitely cause problems - can you verify if it's actually full or just low? –  Shane Madden Nov 19 '12 at 6:49

Shane,Thanks for your response. Thankfully one of my team managed to fix it. Seems on the SQL server that the openfire database was completely missing so we just copied it from a previous backup and its working fine now. –  Loz Nov 19 '12 at 7:26
