Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Simply put, when I try to access SQL Reports through SharePoint 2010 remotely I get a "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized." error. When I access it locally the reports load up just fine.

Here's our basic environment:

  • SharePoint 2010
  • SQL 2008 R2
  • UAG 2010 SP1

I've run myself in circles checking credentials and SPNs and gotten nowhere. Signs point to a Kerberos issue possibly and with Kerberos logging enabled on the SP server I do see this error when pulling reports remotely: "Error Code: 0xd KDC_ERR_BADOPTION". Still, I'm stumped as to the next best step. Anyone else dealt with the type of scenario of have ideas?

Is the UAG server in the same domain as the SQL and SharePoint servers? –  Greg Askew Nov 21 '12 at 18:02
Yes. The servers are all in the same domain. I guess I should mention that I can browse SharePoint sites through UAG without a hitch. I only run into trouble when I pull up a report through SharePoint through UAG. –  silmaril8n Nov 21 '12 at 18:11
