i have installed nginx but now i want to install headers-more-nginx-module into existing installation of nginx , so can someone tell me how to do it ?

i have found following commands but it is with the new installation of nginx and then headers-more-nginx-module

wget 'http://nginx.org/download/nginx-1.2.4.tar.gz'
    tar -xzvf nginx-1.2.4.tar.gz
    cd nginx-1.2.4/

    # Here we assume you would install you nginx under /opt/nginx/.
    ./configure --prefix=/opt/nginx \
        --add-module=/path/to/headers-more-nginx-module

    make
    make install

currently i guess my nginx is under where the nginx.conf is placed

etc/nginx

Nginx doesn't use loadable modules, unlike, say, Apache. You will have to compile that module into a new build of nginx to get it, which presents its own set of issues. –  cjc Dec 10 '12 at 18:22

i have installed as above but i am getting nginx: [emerg] unknown directive "more_set_headers" in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf:7 on line number 7 i have write more_set_headers 'Server: mydomain.com'; –  Hunt Dec 10 '12 at 18:46

Since you're building a new nginx executable, are you pointing at the right one? –  cjc Dec 10 '12 at 18:56

How would i do it ? –  Hunt Dec 10 '12 at 18:57

How are you starting up nginx such that it produces that error? Where did you install the newly built nginx executable (I'm guessing /opt/nginx/bin or something like that). –  cjc Dec 10 '12 at 18:59
