I'd like to be able to have pureFTP virtual accounts expire after a certain number of days. PureFTP's documentation says "Pure-FTPd support expiration dates of shadow passwords (both for accounts and passwords) ."

Is there a way to directly modify the pureftpd.passwd file to insert a password expiration date into the credential information?

Why not use the standard Linux account expiration features provided for any user account? –  mdpc Dec 13 '12 at 18:59

Because I'm using virtual users that don't have system accounts. I'll add that info to the original question. –  Sam Johnson Dec 13 '12 at 19:08
