Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Configuration is as follows:

  • OpenSuse 12.1 minimal installation 64 bit
  • ISPConfig

Everything runs smooth but if I activate SSL for apache2, the web server becomes unavailable. The log (error.log) fills with always the same segmentation fault error message (around 20 times a second)

[notice] child pid 9178 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) ...

What is the best way to find what causes the problem?

How the ssl was activated? –  Paul Dec 15 '12 at 19:04
Please post the related error. Are we talking about MS SQL connector or local MySQL connection on the same server. –  John Siu Dec 15 '12 at 19:21
are you activating ssl (as stated in title) or sql as stated in the question ? –  user130370 Dec 15 '12 at 19:24
Sorry. I corrected the question. I hate iOS autocorrection. I activate SSL in ISPConfig Website settings for a single domain. This leads to an addition vhost-entry for the domain which seems to be ok. Apache starts without an error.p but becomes a responsive and the log starts filling with segmentation faults. –  MadMaxAPP Dec 16 '12 at 8:51
