I've been trying to install SCOM 2012 on one machine with SQL 2008 Standard SP1... And I can't. During the installation of SCOM in the Operational Database phase, It WILL NOT connect to my SQL server. I've poked holes in the firewall, tried changing the ports, uninstalling/reinstalling SQL, different instance names, calling it horrible names, but it just wont connect. Did I miss something somewhere?

Does it need any cumulative updates, the SQL server? – Mitch Dec 18 '12 at 20:01

I don't think so. – Cygnus X Dec 18 '12 at 21:07
