on centos 6 there are open source implantations of L2TP VPN (e.g xl2tp), i wanna know that if default l2tp vpn port blocked can we run vpn on different ports or maybe change cipher setting ? what about client (mac) ?

PPTP _ no chance. Especially because - the TRAFFIC (not the control) is not using a port but not even UDP or TCP, but IP supprotocol 47, GRE. L2TP uses the same, I Think. So, changing the port (of the control channel) would not achieve a lot. Noone pretty much needs this. – TomTom Dec 29 '12 at 16:12

Well, then a port Change wont help, as you can not Change the GRE part. SSL / SSTP is the only solution. OpenVPN over TCP with other port. – TomTom Dec 29 '12 at 17:48
