So I've got my RHEL 5 servers running Likewise power broker so that I can use active directory to authenticate users. The idea was to streamline the whole process of getting new users onto a server the problem that has come up is that these users will almost always be using WinSCP to connect to the server. In testing today with a fresh account that had never logged in they were able to connect but they had no home directory they were just defaulted to /home.
Next I logged in with that account over a stardard ssh2 connection and it didn't create their home account either (I assume because it was their 2nd login) this is also a problem.
I know if I login with a fresh account through ssh first, then that will create their home account and everything works perfectly, but I need to do something to make sure that if the user has never logged in, or doesn't have a /home/$USER account, one gets created for them.
What is the best way to go about this?
