I am looking for a device that will help me in my situation;

I am looking to replace workstations that I have on LAN, with a device. This device would have a monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to it. Perhaps a KVM over IP type device. This device would connect to a Hyper-V virtual running Windows 7 on the local Windows 2008 R2 server.

Does such a device exist?

Yes it does.

But first of all, you have to make sure you are using the right Microsoft Product.

What you are looking for is Microsoft VDI.

Then you need to get yourself one of the many Thin-Clients or No-Clients devices.

Wyse is one of the well known player in that business.

Thanks! Will any of the zero clients work with 2008 R2? There are a lot of Wyse devices and I am trying to wrap my head around it. – Kevin Kulczycki Jan 10 at 3:16
