I did the sftponly trick with sshd. Is there an option to make it following symlinks with to other directories that do not belong to the user?

Match Group sftponly

  ChrootDirectory /var/sftp/

  X11Forwarding no

  AllowAgentForwarding no

  AllowTcpForwarding no

  ForceCommand internal-sftp

If you are asking if it is possible for the system to follow links to directories outside of /var/sftp/ then the answer is no. – Zoredache Jan 11 '13 at 0:42
