Servers: O/S: Windows Server 2008 with IIS and asp.net as web apps
We have two sites: our principal Site A and our standby Site B. For site, I mean a bunch of servers with web applications and database.
Site A is replicated to Site B every 30 minutes and it's updated. Both sites are physically in different places. Site A has its own numbers of IP: 192.168.1.xx and Site B has its own numbers: 192.170.2.xx.
When site A is running normally, our users load our web applications in this way:
If site A gets down for whatever reason, then site B will get promoted to principal. But site B has its own numebers of IP.
Is there any way to automatically force IP or URL to change when user tries to load web apps of site A?
I mean this case:
User writes on web browser: http://192.168.1.109/mywebapp1/login.aspx And it should be redirected automatically to IP of site B: http://220.127.116.11/mywebapp1/login.aspx
