Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am monitoring a server with Munin. Everything but Apache is reporting nicely. My Apache graphs are empty.

I have edited apache httpd.conf to switch ExtendedStatus On. I have then edited my vhosts file to include the following:

NamedHosts 127.0.0.1:80
<VirtualHost 127.0.0.1:80>
        <Location /server-status>
           SetHandler server-status
           Order deny,allow
           Deny from all
           Allow from 127.0.0.1
      </Location>
</VirtualHost>

I am using NamedHosts as I don't want all my IP addresses listening on port 80.

After making this change, I try locally accessing the server using the address that munin will query:

$ wget http://127.0.0.1:80/server-status?80
--2013-01-24 21:51:13--  http://127.0.0.1/server-status?auto
Connecting to 127.0.0.1:80... failed: Connection refused.

Why is this connection getting refused?

Please check if you have Listen 127.0.0.1:80 in your httpd.conf. –  user186665 Aug 22 '13 at 14:18
