I'm facing a 401.2 - Unauthorized error in my browser when trying to access my test website after setting up a Many-to-One mapping in IIS 7.5 (on Windows 7) for a client certificate, following the instructions at IIS.net.
The test website is set up to point at a folder that contains a single html file, and has just an https site binding configured.
The error page that gets displayed is shown below
My authentication configuration in applicationHost.config looks like this
<authentication> <anonymousAuthentication enabled="false" userName="IUSR" /> <basicAuthentication enabled="false" /> <clientCertificateMappingAuthentication enabled="false" /> <digestAuthentication enabled="false" /> <iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication enabled="true" oneToOneCertificateMappingsEnabled="false"> <manyToOneMappings> <clear /> <add name="cert" description=""> <rules> <add certificateField="Issuer" certificateSubField="CN" matchCriteria="Company Name" /> </rules> </add> </manyToOneMappings> </iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication> <windowsAuthentication enabled="false"> <providers> <add value="Negotiate" /> <add value="NTLM" /> </providers> </windowsAuthentication> </authentication>
Are there other settings I need to be aware of in order to get this to work? How would you go about troubleshooting this issue?
