I am receiving the following error when trying to send mail in Thunderbird:
"An error occurred sending mail: Unable to establish a secure link with SMTP server smtp.myserver.com using STARTTLS since it doesn't advertise that feature. Switch off STARTTLS for that server or contact your service provider."
I have followed the following two tutorials to set up postfix/dovecot, and to enable TLS over SSL:
When I telnet into my server, it advertises that STARTTLS is in fact enabled:
telnet localhost 25 Trying ::1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. 220 mail.myserver.com ESMTP Postfix ehlo myserver.com 250-mail.myserver.com 250-PIPELINING 250-SIZE 10240000 250-VRFY 250-ETRN 250-STARTTLS 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-8BITMIME 250 DSN
And when I had set up the account in Thunderbird, it showed that the SMTP server was running under STARTTLS. My /var/log/maillog shows no entries when I try to send an e-mail (no errors, no warnings). Any ideas on what I could try next?
