I am in the process of planning for a Direct Access server on Server 2012. I am interested in the system requirements in a real world scenario. I found this (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj735301.aspx) which gives me a very good idea about what sort of specs will be needed for what I would like. However I am having a hard time finding specific best practices (2 NICs? hard drive utilization? Space requirements?) for the planning/setup/install steps.
Do you typically create a dedicated Direct Access server, or do you just piggy back it on another server? Is it a workload that virtualizes well, or does it need a physical machine?
I know this is a broad question, but I am hoping for some real world usage info that is less than 6 months old (most of the Google results I found)
