We have clustered storage set up on a Win2k8R2 setup running Hyper-V. There are Three hosts running a series of VMs. We have 4 clustered volumes (Volume1 - Volume4) at C:\ClusterStorage\Volume#.

Host server 1 shows all 4 volume directories, but I can only browse volumes 3 & 4 and has VMs with VHDs in those directories. Attempting to browse other volumes triggers an error.

Host server 2 shows none, just an hour glass. eventually crashing Explorer if you browse to ClusterStorage. But, has VM's running in volumes 1 & 2. I can access those directories directly by entering the path.

Host server 3 shows all 4 volume directories, but I can only browse volumes 3 & 4 and has VMs with VHDs running in those directories. But, also has a VM running in volume 2?? Which I cannot browse. Attempting to browse other volumes triggers an error.

The error I receive is "There are currently no logon servers available to service the login request." I can ping the DC by ip or hostname.

It may be as simple as bouncing the host servers to reestablish a login with the DC, but I need to keep the VMs online, and cannot currently migrate them to another host while I bounce the each of the servers do to this issue.

Any ideas on how to reestablish a login without rebooting first?

Try running a cluster validation when the problem manifests itself. – joeqwerty Feb 17 at 4:02
