I'm running a site using Amazon Elastic Beanstalk for PHP. I have a maintenance script which hits another site (via cURL) to grab some blank template files. For some reason, I seem to be having trouble with this script on my production machines. It runs fine on my local and staging servers. I'm currently trying to debug the script, but at this point I'm not even sure what this message means.
I assume this is a 503 error generated by Apache, but there my error_log shows nothing when this happens and I'm not getting any other kind of errors. Could this be caused by a timeout in the curl download? I've set the script timeout limit to 0 (infinite) but could be hitting an Apache timeout. Or perhaps running out of memory?
The thing is, the staging server is running on a micro and production on a large so it seems I should be having this issue the opposite way around... I've read a lot of posts around the net of people experiencing this issue with PHP/Apache but no one seems to have an idea of what it actually is, where it is produced and what one can do about it. Help!
