My dev server has been acting strange the last few weeks and during diagnostics I noticed that every time I shut down or reboot I get the following:
Shutting down interface eth0: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 67s! [ip:1395] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 67s! [ip:1395] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 67s! [ip:1395]
These messages spam indefinitely.
After some searching I did come across related posts:
- How to fix "BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 17163091968s"?
- BUG: soft lockup - CPU#7 stuck for 10s! [php:756]
But they don't appear to address my exact issue, although one did state to update to latest kernel, which I did but still did not resolve the issue. I suspect my h/d may be crapping out, but I would like to be sure before I go through the hassle of replacing and re-installing.
My current setup:
OS: CentOS 6.3 Kernel: Linux service1 2.6.32-279.22.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Feb 6 03:10:46 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
