I have created a share on a windows 2008 server and mounted it on Ubuntu 12.04 server by modifying /etc/fstab with the following:
//Win2008svr/share /mnt/share cifs domain=mydomain.local,username=domainuser,password=password 0 0
I need users to be able to access this from the windows side and the linux side, currently only root can write to the share.
Each user will have a subfolder with a userame
Shared folder = share
subfolders: user1 user2 user3
user1: owned by user1, group user1, permissions 755
user2: owned by user2, group user2, permissions 755
user3: owned by user3, group user3, permissions 755
user1: full permissions for domainuser1, read for domain users
user2: full permissions for domainuser2, read for domain users
user3: full permissions for domainuser3, read for domain users
Is there a way to set the permissions like I want above?
Can I mount the share with read write permissions for everyone, then create the sub folders and set the permissions on them?
