I am trying to setup Apache 2.2.16 in a chroot with Debian Squeeze and have followed the (simple) howto here to put Apache into a chroot: http://www.howtoforge.com/chrooting-apache2-with-mod_chroot-on-debian-squeeze
It seems simple enough but unfortunately doesn't work.
If I symlink my website in the chroot (as recommended in the howto) I got the error message:
Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: /var/www
If I tried to put directly the yebsite in the chroot path I got the error message:
client denied by server configuration: /var
I checked that permissions for /var/www/var/www are OK.
I am accessing my website through the following url:
Here is my httpd.conf (I don't use VirtualHost):
Alias /toto /var/www/toto <Directory /var/www/toto> Options All AllowOverride All order allow, deny allow from all </Directory> <Directory /> Order allow, deny Options All Allow from all AllowOverride All </Directory>
I think I have search and look at every similar situation everywhere on the web and couldn't make it work. Can someone please help understand this problem ?
