We're running Sun App Server 9.1. I know it's GlassFish, but I'm not sure which version. The logs are something along the lines of this:
[#|2013-04-10T11:21:16.226+1000|WARNING|sun-appserver9.1|javax.jms|_ThreadID=65;_ThreadName=p: thread-pool-1; w: 24;_RequestID=e4669188-dce2-4318-ae77-xxxxx;|[I500]: Caught JVM Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.foo.BarBazFoo|#]
There are a few things I'd like to change about this:
- I'd like to remove the thread ID, as it's just unwanted noise in my case
- I want to add the name of the originating application, as some classes are shared
- I want to stop GlassFish from splitting long messages like stack traces and wrapping the pieces in all this noise
- It would be nice to ditch the "sun-appserver9.1" header as well
Can this be done through configuration, without requiring a custom appender or something along those lines? I can't seem to find anything about the actual formatting in the admin console, but I imagine there's a lot more that can be done by messing with config files. Oracle's docs probably contain the information, but as usual I can't find it, everything I can find seems to be aimed at filtering entire messages, rather than how they're formatted before writing to the log file.
