I'm installing Openstack Grizzly using the guide found here: Openstack-Grizzly-Install-Guide
I would like to run Openstack on a single machine with 3 physical network interfaces. I've named them eth1, eth2 and eth3. The idea is that when everything is up and running, Openstack horizon will work on eth1, and eth2 and eth3 will be dedicated for VM traffic.
Following the guide, I've also set up a network interface called eth0 that does not connect to the network. eth0 is used for internal Openstack management. I've also enabled IP forwarding and set mysql to listen on all addresses (bind-address = 0.0.0.0) as per the guide.
My config for eth0 looks like this:
auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 10.10.1.44 netmask 255.255.255.0
When attempting to call my mysql DB using 10.10.1.44, mysql does not respond, however if I use localhost, everything works just fine. I've checked my Ubuntu firewall to make sure port 3306 isn't being blocked but it looks like everything is fine there too.
sudo netstat -anltp|grep :3306 tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:3306 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 1534/mysqld
So now I'm stuck. Why can't I connecto to mysql through 10.10.1.44?
