Installing sshd on a Windows 2008 Server. sorins is local Administrator account and JIRA is the named of the localmachine.
This machine is already part of another domain but I do not need to activate domain logins via ssh, only for one local account (sorins).
sorins@jira ~ $ ssh-host-config *** Query: Overwrite existing /etc/ssh_config file? (yes/no) yes *** Info: Creating default /etc/ssh_config file *** Query: Overwrite existing /etc/sshd_config file? Now trying to login:
sorins@jira ~ $ ssh localhost The authenticity of host 'localhost (127.0.0.1)' can't be established. ECDSA key fingerprint is ba:2e:3e:9d:a6:15:b2:f1:49:87:76:4c:d8:c3:54:0d. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes Warning: Permanently added 'localhost' (ECDSA) to the list of known hosts. sorins@localhost's password: Permission denied, please try again. sorins@localhost's password:
Now wondering why it does not let me login:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( sshd ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: sshd: PID 2896: Failed password for invalid user sorins from 127.0.0.1 port 3365 ssh2.
