I am using rdiff-backup to backup the contents of a folder located on a Debian machine to a NTFS disk via ntfs-3g.

The problem is that rdiff-backup creates various files containing colons (:) in its rdiff-backup-data folder on the mirror disk: Nearly every file name ends with a time stamp in the form of YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.

Is it possible to reconfigure rdiff-backup in a way to use a different format for its file names?

1.3.0+, meaning that it does not work in the stable version 1.2.8. –  Etan May 2 '13 at 19:44
