Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I would like to measure the download performance of my company's proxies. Browsing could take ages whereas my company has two redundant high speed internet access (2 x 100MB/s) and it seems that the proxies are the cause (I get the full speed if I bypass the proxies for the same website).

Is there a way like iperf to measure the download speed between a client and a server through a proxy?

Many thanks

One of these should do the trick: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download.html

It'll force a download through your proxy to your client. Note that due to caching you'll probably want one of the larger (100 MB or 1 GB) files to the most accurate result.
