I'm running SAMBA as file server and PDC in a small network.
3 of the machines are old WinXP machines that use roaming profiles for domain logon. They also automatically connect to their home directory as well as to a public share with the username "tutorial".
6 other computers are "semi-public" Win7 machines that are currently NOT part of the domain. They all use a local profile to login, however they too connect to the public share with the same username "tutorial".
Now I was asked to provide some information about when our staff and students use the machines, etc.
So my question is: How can I log the times people start using the machines? For the XP machines it would be good if it could log not only the name of the machine but also the username, for the Win7 machines logging when they access the share is sufficient. (LogOFF times for the domain users would be interesting, too, but I read somewhere that logging domain logoffs doesn't really work as it should?) Ideally it would be a concice "clean" log, because it'll go to some management guy.
Thank you for your help.
