I have Samba 4.0.5 running on an Ubuntu server as a domain controller. When a file is created by a normal domain user on a Windows machine, the owner of the file is the user who created the file, as expected. However, files created by members of the
Domain Admins group become owned by user 3000000. This is different to behaviour in Samba 3, where files are owned by the user who created them regardless of whether or not they are domain administrators.
- Why has this changed in Samba 4?
- Is there anything I can do to retain the Samba 3 behaviour in Samba 4?
