Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

i've two servers, the first has the LDAP and samba(3.5.10) services running, the second only has a samba(3.6.9) service running. Both have the same configuration, but i cant mount the shared directory of the second, this is the smb.conf:

[global]
        workgroup = WORKGROUP
        server string = 25
        netbios name = DOCUMENTOS

        log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m

        security = user
        passdb backend = ldapsam:"ldap://ldap.myserver.com"
        encrypt passwords = yes
        ldap admin dn = cn=admin,dc=myserver,dc=com
        ldap suffix = dc=myserver,dc=com
        ldap group suffix = ou=groups
        ldap user suffix = ou=users
        ldap machine suffix = ou=computers
        ldap ssl = no
        local master = no
        ldap passwd sync = yes
        preferred master = no

        idmap uid = 10000-15000
        idmap gid = 10000-15000

        load printers = no
        printcap name = /dev/null
        printing = bsd
        disable spoolss = yes

[shares]
        comment = Network Share Directory
        create mask = 0664
        directory mask = 0775
        path = /home/shares
        read only = No
        browseable = Yes

when i try to mount the second directory, i get:

mount error(5): Input/output error

i if use smbclient and try to bind an user i get:

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL

using a wrong password i get:

session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE

here is the slapd.log when trying to bind:

if you can help, would be very useful. Thanks!

At least, the failure was in the mismatch of sid's in ldap and samba. –  acvF Jul 5 '13 at 11:36
