Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

so I've recently installed mono, mod_mono and xsp4. So far I my site works perfectly with xsp4 but for some reason I cannot get it working with mod_mono and apache2. I get a resource cannot be found error.

This is what I know:

  • The permissions to the directory are 777 so permissions shouldn't be an issue (this is for testing)
  • I'm using mod-mono-server4

Here's my sites-available/default:

        DocumentRoot /var/www
        AddMonoApplications asp "/:/var/www/asp"
        MonoServerPath asp "/usr/bin/mod-mono-server4"
        Monodebug asp true
        <Directory />
                Options FollowSymLinks
                AllowOverride None
        </Directory>
        <Directory /var/www/>
                Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
                AllowOverride None
                Order allow,deny
                allow from all
        </Directory>

        <Directory /var/www/asp/>
                MonoSetServerAlias asp
                SetHandler mono
                AddHandler mod_mono .aspx .ascx .asax .ashx .config .cs .asmx
                <FilesMatch "\.(gif|jp?g|png|css|ico|xsl|wmv|zip)$">
                            SetHandler None
                </FilesMatch>
                Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
                AllowOverride All
                Order allow,deny
                Allow from all
                SetHandler mono
                DirectoryIndex index.aspx
        </Directory>

        ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /usr/lib/cgi-bin/
        <Directory "/usr/lib/cgi-bin">
                AllowOverride None
                Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch
                Order allow,deny
                Allow from all
        </Directory>

And I have included mod_mono.conf in my apache2.conf:

# Include mod_mono
Include /etc/apache2/mod_mono.conf

Here is my mod_mono.conf:

LoadModule mono_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_mono.so

<IfModule mod_headers.c>
    Header set X-Powered-By "Mono"
</IfModule>

Any help would be appreciated. I've never set up apache with mod_mono before! :(
