I'm unclear on what happens to the information in the plan.xml file when an application is deployed.

I have a need to modify some information in the plan (EJB MDB configuration) without performing a full redeploy. I found the plan.xml file in the repository (in the application's META-INF) directory, but changing this file had no effect. I stopped the application, modified the file and then restarted the application.

I'm guessing the plan.xml contents are read at deployment time and the values saved in other locations/databases.

Is it possible to modify the plan without doing a full redeploy, and if so, how is this accomplished.
