i have the memcached daemon failing with the following error:

2013-08-15 07:45:27 +02:00 --- error: Uncaught PHP Error: Memcache::set() [<a href='memcache.set'>memcache.set</a>]: Server (tcp 11211) failed with: Failed reading line from stream (0) in
 system/libraries/drivers/Cache/Memcache.php, linea 111

What can i do to understand why is failing? I have LFD that restarts the service 5 minutes later so the website is down. There is a way in linux to restart the service immediately?

That is not a memcached error. It's a PHP error, caused by a possible memcached issue. What does the actual memcached error log say? – EEAA Aug 15 '13 at 6:04
I agree with EEAA this is a PHP error, try using telnet memcached_server 11211 to see if it's up when you get this error – Alin Andrei May 6 '14 at 13:03
