SQL Server 2008 R2 Express

Report Services Configuration Manager

When I launch it, shows correct Server Name, but report server instance is blank. When I press FIND I get:

"Unable to connect to the Report Server ".

I tried uninstalling SQL Server completely, rebooting, reinstalling a fresh download. Same result. I've googled every article I can find - nothing.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

What have you tried in terms of troubleshooting specifically, there seems to be plenty of things it could be, e.g "Turns out if you do not install SQL Server Express with Advanced Services, the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is still available on the start menu, but doesn't work." Maybe list the things you've already covered off so we can rule those out. –  Drew Khoury Aug 27 '13 at 6:44
