There are way too many TIME_WAIT on 127.0.0.1

This is causing PHP FCGI to work way too slow and hence my error log is full of "recv() failed (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream"

I have set fastcgi_read_timeout 300s; fastcgi_send_timeout 300s; fastcgi_connect_timeout 300s;

and also Values like net.ipv4.tcp_fin_timeout = 4 and net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time = 4 But despite all this i have too many connections in TIME_WAIT

I am using CENTOS with NGINX and PHP FCGI

Some more information about your setup might help. Also did this happen all of a sudden, has it always been like this? It's probably too hard to answer as is. –  Drew Khoury Sep 6 '13 at 4:52
