I'm adding the
route IP_ADDRESS NETMASK net_gatewayto the OpenVPN config file (locally), so it's not being pushed by the server and it works perfectly fine.
However, when I remove the routing line from the configuration file and reconnect to the OpenVPN server, it stays in the routing tables (according to
route PRINT (in cmd.exe) on Windows 7). Which means OpenVPN doesn't remove the previously generated route.
I'd like to know how to prevent this. I have added a sample configuration file below (which is not too special).
client dev tap proto tcp-client resolv-retry infinite nobind persist-key persist-tun ca ca.crt comp-lzo verb 3 auth-user-pass route 192.168.1.100 255.255.255.255 net_gateway
