I am wanting to always allow the Windows Media Player add on for internet explorer to run without asking on all computers in my domain. We have a software client that sends sounds via internet explorer and half the people don't hear it because they don't allow windows media player through internet explorer.

I want to Always allow the Windows Media Player plugin to run. I know you can set this in Group Policies, I've looked at it but I don't know what to enter. It has two fields, Name and Value. My issue here is that I'm not sure if the name is "Windows Media Player" or not...and if it is what is the Value?

Any help with this would be much appreciated. I have been banging my head on this for a few days now.

Thank you in advance, all help is greatly appreciated.

What group policy are you trying to configure? –  Dan Sep 20 '13 at 9:48

Well, first of all I don't know Internet Explorer much but I have decided to just enable all addons. Is there a security setting for Intranet (maybe the lowest?) That doesn't block ActiveX addons? If so, can I push this to all computers via Group Policy? –  Scott Plunkett Sep 20 '13 at 13:39
