Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

One of my users has reported this error when using Report Builder 2008 R2 to save a report design back to a SSRS 2012 SP1 server.

The data cache for the report edit session is not valid. Rerun the report to create a new and valid data cache.
(rsDataCacheMismatch) For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors

Does anyone know the cause and/or fix for this?

I can see people have been searching this error message in Google because it's coming up as a suggested search query, but I can't find where people have actually posted the message and/or received feedback.

I've been able to reproduce this on Report Builder 2012 SP1, in our case it appears to be related to a prior error due to a missing subreport parameter. I think this is a bug and have logged a Connect issue with Microsoft here: connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/804980/… –  Michael12345 Oct 10 '13 at 5:22
