I have an Apache server serving a few websites, but for a specific domain I would like to forward the requests to a NodeJs in the back of the Apache. I setup the mod_proxy for Apache 2.2 but I have a few issues that I can't seem to find an answer for.

  1. I would like to serve a default page, in case the NodeJs server is down, from a different directory.
  2. What settings would I have to close in order to properly secure my webserver? I read the Apache documentation, and the big warning for mod_proxy, but they do not specify exactly what settings are safe and which are not.
