I am gathering CPU performance data for Hyper-V Virtual machines using perfmon or through WMI using the "Hyper-V Hypervisor Virtual Processor" counter. The output data contains

My issue is that when duplicate virtual machine names (element names) exist on a host, I do not see a way to correlate a counter to the correct virtual machine other than the name, which is not unique..

Example: Assume two virtual machines with the name "TestVM" on a single Hyper-V host.

Counter CPU 'Name' Output TestVM:Hv VP 0 TestVM:Hv VP 0#1

How do I know which virtual machine each counter belongs too? I do not see any unique identifiers in the WMI class Win32_PerfFormattedData_HvStats_HyperVHypervisorVirtualProcessor that would help.
