I have a runaway process to debug. The problem only manifests on two FreeBSD 9.1 servers I'm using. I have a core file that might contain useful information.

My first two thoughts were to attach to the running process using gdb and to examine the core file using gdb. Unfortunately attaching to the running process triggers a gdb bug and the process immediately crashes.

I can load the core file with gdb but there are no debug symbols. Can I get debug symbols for the Python executable installed from ports?
