I made a wrong installation of Postfixadmin and decided to uninstall it completely and to try again. Although it was working fine before, the tutorial I'm following to create a file server made a mistake and I had to start from scratch.
I uninstalled postfix admin with
apt-get purge postfixadmin and then I attempted to install again with the package with
dpkg -i postfixadmin_2.3.6-1_all.deb
The problem I'm having after installation and configuration is this error message in the setup.php file:
Error: Can't connect to database Please edit the $CONF['database_*']
parameters in config.inc.php. DEBUG INFORMATION: MySQLi Select Database: Unknown database 'postfixadmin'
And effectively, said database does not exist. When I installed Postfixadmin the first time it gave me a purple configuration screen where I chose my server type, database type, and a password for the postfixadmin user of the database. Now no matter how many times I purge and reinstall postfixadmin now, the setup screen only asks me for the server, but it does not ask me for the database password or anything else like it did the same time. My guess is that
purge isn't removing all the Postfixadmin files properly, but I could be wrong. I believe the other configuration screens create the database, and since I'm never reaching them, they are never created.
For the record, these are the three screens I am supposed to see, but I only see the first one no matter how many times I try to reinstall postfixadmin:
And the tutorial I'm following is this one:
How should I completely uninstall Postfixadmin and reinstall it? Or is there a way to open these configuration screens "manually"? This is driving me nuts as I have fighting all day long with no success.
Thank you for any help,
